The Homeschool Historian
Hi! I’m Holly, the Homeschool Historian, and I write history curriculum & guides for homeschoolers.
If you would have told me twenty years ago, when I first stepped foot in college, that I would one day be using my degree to write history curriculum for homeschoolers instead of working at the Smithsonian, I would have said you were crazy. After homeschooling for nine years and earning a Master’s degree in history, I realize that what I do is of more importance than any “professional” job I could find in the history field.
I’m passionate about the past: how we interpret it, how we perceive it, and how we write and talk about it. I believe in fairness and balance in historical interpretation, especially in a culture in which these elements are hard to come by.
When I’m not homeschooling or dragging my family to historical sites, you can find me knitting (terribly), taking walks in the woods, and dreaming about autumn.
