American History I

This curriculum was developed for high schoolers (9-12^th grades). It covers the Pre-Columbian (pre-European contact) era through Reconstruction, and requires access to the internet, as well as the mandatory text, American History, Volume 1: 1492-1877 (by Thomas Kidd). The book can be found on Amazon, eBay, or any other book seller. (American History II will be available in spring 2026, and will use Kidd’s Volume II by the same name. You may also buy both combined in one book.)

This 240 page download includes terms and people to know, questions related to the readings, quizzes, a final exam, resources such as primary sources and a bibliography (plus links to tutorials for essay writing, the historical method, etc.), enrichment ideas, and links to related YouTube videos. The Homeschool Historian allows it to be used in a co-op setting, with permission.
