As a homeschool family of 10 years, this is the curriculum/guide that I have tried to piece together over the last few years. The Homeschool Historian has done it SO much better and with so much attention to detail. She is an accomplished historian and a homeschool mom, so she has the perfect credentials to put something like this together.
In her book, A Nation without a Face, The Homeschool Historian explains the ideal way to do history: chronologically every year through 6th grade and once that solid foundation is established, go through one time period each year from grades 7-12 including a study in Civics and Historiography.
We haven’t taught history for a long time in our country (replaced with “social studies”) and we are the worse for it. This guide can help restore that deficit!
